Located in the North Carolina border of Wake and Chatham counties, just thirty minutes south of Raleigh North Carolina, the North Carolina Railroad Museum / New Hope Valley Railway. Includes steam and diesel locomotives and several cars, platforms, and the like, the museum / railway is entertaining fans of trains, Bonsall for his campaign since 1981. Take a trip along the old railway line with me and experience a little “train of American history! It’s really a great holiday destination.
When I was a little boy I’ve been enamored of trains – steam engines, diesel engines, high-speed trains and even the subway. My family feels the same way, we marvel at the sight of a steam locomotive whistle and wheezing its way clackety-clack down the tracks, imagine that we also take a trip across this great nation ours. This particular rolling museum train buffs will love the variety of equipment on hand, and for the rides, available to the public. It is part of history in North Carolina.
In fact, when we recently visited the museum grounds have been packed for days of walking takes place only on the first Sunday of the month [May to November with special Halloween and Christmas season and goes]. Five tours are organized every day walk, visitors are encouraged to arrive early for the trip you wish to perform.
Driven by a robust General Electric diesel locomotive [built in the early 1940s], an hour’s train ride leaves passengers to travel to Bonsall in New Hill and back. 6.5-mile track was purchased from a venerable Southern Railway Company, and is now used exclusively for the museum.
Fans sitting in one of two comfortable open cars which are actually converted flat cars. On a recent Sunday brought the museum to one of the aforementioned diesel and added a pair of cabooses red wooden sides and a car luggage brown complete the package.
It is a great museum of the U.S. Army Transportation Corps Car tool, which currently houses a museum shop and exhibits. Numerous other cars, and offer are located on the jib crane, and some have been carefully restored and others are in active use. Currently, the museum’s steam locomotive used in a limited, but plans to start using it more often when traveling.
The Railway Museum is in charge of their own group of volunteers [Saturdays are working days and trained volunteers are welcome]. The prices of train travel are reasonable and that the passengers know that prices are helping to restore a little of the history of the train North Carolina, while at the same time revive it.
“G” scale model railroad garden is at the top of a grill restaurant and picnic area nearby. There are plenty of parking too.

I’ve heard it described as a “public Ivy,” but the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is best known for his devotion to expand their worldview through better education and practical research.
The UNC-Chapel Hill campus is beautiful and I think Chapel Hill, North Carolina is the perfect college town. There is so much to do as many sporting events, the Museum of basketball, great restaurants and theaters and UNC basketball.
I can not imagine that the exchange of experiences and friendships made here would not last a lifetime!
Although I did not attend the university, but I spent some time on campus and is just incredible! It is not only beautiful, but students and staff are very friendly, and you can really feel that it is historically important. I just wish when I go to college, I was advised to educational opportunities and the beauty and enjoyment of the campus on Franklin Street.
