Throughout the history of lighthouses around the world have come to represent adventure and mystery of the ships at sea and fans waiting for them to return.
Well, the same applies to North Carolina lighthouses as well.
There are said to be eight lighthouses on the coast of North Carolina, but I also heard of a novena, but I was not there. Of course, I’m looking for this report and my findings as soon as you can see if it’s true.

Over one hundred years of history on board, you can view old photographs, get in a real steam locomotive and the sound of the bell, and learn to enjoy all the trains. Oh, and kids like it too much!

It was built in 1872, but is one of the leading North Carolina, which was under construction more than once. It is actually the third Bodie Island Lighthouse was built.

Not many people know that a huge flock of geese hit the lens and had to put the screen to protect it from collisions of birds. Or have a spiral staircase that was originally attached to a metal bar that held the flashlight, which acted as lightning rods.
Can you guess what happened?
One of the guards was landing during a storm and the shock was so strong that it is left at the bottom of his body numb!
I know! It’s amazing that still lives! This lighthouse is automated, but because it is in need of renovation, visitors can enter and climb the lighthouse. It is the visitor center where you can buy books and a variety of items to remember your visit.
I heard an interesting story about a guide who really knew much about the Bodie Island Lighthouse. I found it surprising that his father, Vernon Gaskill was lighthouse keeper from 1919 to 1940!
He told stories of his childhood and how, even though her father lived at the lighthouse, her mother and children lived in Wanchese so kids could go to school.
But he lives in a lighthouse during the holidays and the summer. What a great vacation spot!
